I travelled to Medan with 7 friends for a week, and we spent our final night at Marken Villa. It was the perfect way to end our trip. The villa was comfortable, well-maintained, and provided a relaxing atmosphere for our group. We especially enjoyed the pre-booked barbecue prepared by the villa team, which was delicious and made our last evening even more special. Thank you to the team at Marken Villa for your warm hospitality and for helping create such a memorable experience for us. We truly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend it to others visiting Medan.

I have stayed in several villas across different regions in Indonesia, but this is the first time I have been truly disappointed by a place like this. The problems started during check-in. The staff member responsible for handling check-ins was not present at the front desk, so guests had to wait. This is a basic service that should be properly managed. During the check-in process, we were also asked to pay a deposit of around IDR 1,000,000, but no receipt or written proof of the deposit was provided. When we arrived at the villa, the staff did not even know how to properly operate the air conditioner in the bedroom, and it took quite a long time for them to figure out how to set up the TV. The room condition was also disappointing. We found towels with holes in them, which is honestly unacceptable for a villa of this category. The bathtub was already cracked, which made us feel unsafe using it because we were worried it might break while someone was inside. Another issue is their overly strict policies. There is no refund at all if guests cancel their stay or visit. For your information, overnight guests are charged IDR 200,000 and visiting guests IDR 100,000, and if plans change, that money is simply forfeited. The kitchen equipment, plates, and glasses smelled unpleasant, probably because they had been stored in the cabinet for too long without proper cleaning. In addition, the soap and shampoo provided in the bathroom were extremely small, probably only around 10–15 ml, which is surprisingly inadequate. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. Unfortunately, I would not choose to stay at this villa again.
